Description
This is a set of images taken with Julia Wagner as part of my “Ouija” project. Combining the supernatural with provocative artistic expression, Julia poses in revealing purple lingerie atop an oversized Ouija board. Her dramatically contorted body, flowing dark curls, and outstretched hand holding a planchette create the impression of a woman caught in the middle of a paranormal encounter. The board’s weathered appearance, celestial symbols, and mysterious lettering provide an occult-inspired setting, while the overhead perspective transforms her body into an unusual arrangement of curves and angles. Blending gothic imagery, sensuality, and supernatural storytelling, this collection explores the seductive mystery of communicating with the unknown, leaving viewers to wonder whether Julia is controlling the spirits or the spirits are controlling her. Photographed in studio on 10-21-2022.
