Segway Shoots
Welcome to one of the more playful, unexpected, and delightfully offbeat corners of my creative world—the Segway Shoots.
This series explores a unique challenge: capturing beautiful models as they attempt to pose, balance, and move on a Ninebot Segway. It’s a blend of fashion, fun, and movement—equal parts modeling, performance, and controlled chaos. At first glance, it might seem like a lighthearted experiment (and in many ways, it is), but beneath the surface, these shoots are a study in improvisation, adaptability, and the intersection of grace and technology.
Each gallery in the Segway Shoots project showcases a different model approaching the challenge with her own style, energy, and flair. Some go for balance and elegance—channeling futuristic fashion vibes with controlled poses and poised expressions. Others embrace the comedic tension of the moment, laughing mid-pose as the Segway hums beneath them or wobbles unpredictably. And that’s part of the charm: no two shoots are the same.
The Segway itself becomes more than just a prop—it becomes a character in the frame. Sleek, compact, and slightly unpredictable, it introduces motion and instability into the traditionally static world of portraiture. It asks the model to be both present and reactive, to maintain her style while navigating shifting ground (literally). Poses must be adjusted. Balance becomes part of the performance. Even the facial expressions often tell a story—part confidence, part amusement, part calculated risk.
Styling varies wildly from shoot to shoot, adding to the diversity of the series. Some models wear streetwear or edgy fashion, complementing the urban tech aesthetic of the Segway itself. Others are dressed in elegant or avant-garde pieces, creating surreal juxtapositions between flowing fabric and mechanical wheels. The shoot locations vary too—studio setups, parking garages, alleyways, hotel corridors, and open-air environments—each adding its own texture and narrative to the scene.
What began as a quirky idea quickly evolved into a surprisingly rich creative avenue. The Segway adds an element of unpredictability that keeps everyone on their toes, making each photo a little more alive and unscripted. In a world where so much photography is posed and polished, these images carry a kinetic energy—a sense of “caught in the act”—that feels refreshingly honest and fun.
These shoots also serve as a metaphor for modern movement: blending beauty, machines, and adaptability in a world that’s always in motion. The models aren’t just standing still—they’re riding change, testing balance, and adapting in real time. There’s a visual poetry in that, especially when framed through the lens of art, fashion, and experimentation.
The Segway Shoots collection is constantly growing, and each new session brings fresh surprises. It’s one of the rare projects where laughter on set is just as important as the final image—where unpredictability is embraced, and elegance often emerges from the unlikeliest scenarios.
Take a ride through the galleries, and you’ll see what happens when you mix wheels with heels, speed with stillness, and a whole lot of mischief.
