Description
This is a set of images taken with Julia Wagner as part of my “Casket Dreams” project. Posing topless in a minimal red G-string against the dark wooden surface of a traditional toe-pinch casket, Julia transforms an object associated with death into the backdrop for a sensual exploration of beauty and mortality. Her cascading curls, over-the-shoulder gaze, and subtle hand gesture create a sense of mystery, while the warm tones of her skin contrast dramatically with the weathered wood and surrounding darkness. The composition plays with the tension between desire and death, placing the vitality of the human form against one of the most recognizable symbols of life’s end. Blending gothic imagery, sensual portraiture, and dark visual storytelling, this collection explores the uneasy attraction between the beautiful and the macabre. Photographed in studio on 05-21-2022.
