Ouija
The Ouija Project invites you into a world where beauty meets the arcane—a visual séance where sensuality and symbolism intertwine. At the heart of this series is a single, evocative prop: a brown blanket designed to resemble a classic Ouija board. Simple in concept, but powerful in effect, this fabric becomes a stage for questions we dare not ask aloud.
In each image, beautiful women are photographed standing on, near, or draped in this Ouija-themed backdrop. The board’s familiar layout—its letters, numbers, and mystical icons—anchors the scene in the language of the unknown. Whether posed with intent or captured in spontaneous stillness, the models appear like modern mediums—otherworldly figures caught in quiet communion with forces just beyond the veil.
The use of the Ouija motif adds an eerie resonance to the portraits. It calls to mind mystery, intuition, and the thin line between the living and the spirit realm. But this is not a horror story—it’s a visual poem about curiosity, presence, and the allure of what we cannot explain. The models are not victims or conduits—they are the keepers of the space. Their gaze invites you in but does not guarantee answers.
Each photograph is framed with deliberate simplicity, letting the textures of skin, fabric, and symbol play against one another. The brown tones of the blanket provide a natural warmth, grounding the supernatural imagery with an earthy palette. The effect is moody, seductive, and just a little haunting. The light is often soft and directional, giving the models a glow that feels ethereal—almost as if lit by candlelight at a midnight ritual.
There’s a tension in the project that’s hard to name. Maybe it’s the inherent duality of the subject matter—models that exude life standing against symbols that speak of death, spirits, and the afterlife. Or maybe it’s the stillness, the sense that something is waiting just beyond the frame. That’s the magic of the Ouija Project: it suggests a narrative without ever spelling it out.
Conceptually, this series aligns with the broader themes of Council of Mischief—projects that blur the line between beauty and surrealism, between concept and emotion. It’s a continuation of an artistic fascination with the mysterious feminine, with states of transition, and with objects that hold symbolic power. The Ouija board, long mythologized in pop culture and the occult, becomes in this context not a toy or tool, but a canvas—an altar beneath the feet of the muses.
Some viewers may read spiritual undertones. Others may see a modern twist on ritual and folklore. And others still may simply enjoy the striking visuals—the blend of alluring subjects and symbolic backdrops. All interpretations are welcome.
In the Ouija Project, the models don’t just pose—they preside. They’re part oracle, part question mark, and entirely magnetic.
Come closer. Ask a question.
The spirits may not answer—but the image will.
