Model Trees
Model Trees is a whimsical, provocative holiday-inspired art series that blends fashion, form, and festivity into one unforgettable visual experience. In this project, beautiful models are wrapped in cloth and adorned with Christmas ornaments, transforming them into living sculptures—part woman, part holiday tree, entirely mesmerizing.
The concept takes the familiar image of a Christmas tree—a symbol of tradition, warmth, and celebration—and reimagines it through the lens of high-concept photography. Draped in rich fabrics that cascade like tree skirts and tinsel, each model becomes both decoration and decorated. Glass bulbs, garlands, ribbons, stars, and string lights are carefully placed across their bodies, emphasizing curves, movement, and mood in striking contrast to the expected holiday clichés.
Each shoot within the Model Trees series is uniquely styled. Some are minimal and elegant, using monochrome fabrics and metallic ornaments for a modern, fashion-editorial feel. Others lean into joyful chaos, bursting with color, glitter, and light—playfully blurring the line between fashion fantasy and festive absurdity.
But beneath the humor and sparkle lies something deeper: a commentary on beauty as display, and the ways in which society decorates, packages, and presents the female form—especially during seasons of heightened consumption and attention. The models, while glamorous and ethereal, are also statuesque, unmoving—living metaphors for the ornaments we admire, desire, and often overlook once the season fades.
Model Trees is festive, strange, and strangely elegant. It invites viewers to pause, laugh, and look again. Because in this world, the decorations don’t just hang—they pose, they shine, and they stare back.
