This is a set of images taken with Julia Wagner as part of my “Casket Dreams” project. Posing completely nude against a traditional wooden toe-pinch casket, Julia creates an intimate composition that explores the relationship between beauty, vulnerability, and mortality. Her raised arm, elegantly bent leg, and downward gaze introduce an almost sculptural quality to the photograph, while her dark curls and natural contours contrast with the casket’s weathered wooden surface. Dramatic studio lighting isolates her figure against the surrounding darkness, creating an atmosphere that is both haunting and sensual. Blending gothic aesthetics, artistic nude photography, and unconventional storytelling, this collection explores the delicate boundary between life, desire, and death.
