Description
This is a set of images taken with Maja Violette as part of my “Mail Order Bride” project. Emerging from an oversized cardboard shipping box, Maja offers a provocative interpretation of a rather unconventional delivery. Holding a burgundy top against her otherwise nude figure, she confronts the camera with an intense, almost defiant expression, suggesting this particular package may have arrived with a personality of its own. The crumpled packing paper, ordinary cardboard box, and minimalist studio setting create an absurd contrast between commercial packaging and the human form. Blending dark humor, artistic nudity, and social satire, this collection explores the disturbing concept of ordering companionship as though selecting merchandise from a catalog. After all, some deliveries come with more than you bargained for. Photographed in studio on 10-05-2019.
